Life's a Beach! Though his family owns the charming beachside town of Barefoot William, Aidan Cates is as down-to-earth as the locals. He's also practical to a fault and doesn't believe some psychic on the boardwalk can predict his future.
Jillie Mac is as free as an ocean breeze, so when the hot stranger and his date mistake her for a fortune teller, she's ready to have some fun. But one devastating secret told, one mistaken identity revealed, and numerous long summer nights later, it's Jillie and Aidan who discover that sometimes love comes with a simple twist of fate.

My Review

A special thank you to Kensington Books and NetGalley for providing an ARC, in exchange for an unbiased and honest review.
I felt an immediate connection to newfound author, Kate Angell, and fellow Floridan, in Southwest, Florida (loved her bio as sounds as though she loves life and her passion is reflective in her work). As I reside on the Southeast Florida coast, always enjoy traveling to the west side of the state, whether a road trip for the weekend via car to charming areas Siesta Key, Sarasota, Naples or Tampa. Or, frequently, when I do not have the time to make the drive across the state, I enjoy being transported, via a good read to the area. The lives and the people are always different on both sides of Florida (when you are an insider-you know). The novel opens in a charming beachside town in Florida - Barefoot William, with wealthy and sexy, Aidan Cates at a Psychic Fair along the boardwalk with his date Lila. (I love astrology, and my favorite thing to do – a tarot card reading)--my last one in New Orleans most definitely came true). So immediately was pulled in, along with the stunning front cover. Aidan, a skeptic who happens to be with Lila at the fair, when Lila suggests a reading (she wants to be married) and he is not interested. They sit down at a table thinking they are getting a reading with psychic, Aeries Martine. Aidan is indeed shocked when the psychic informs Lila she is in love with Roger (her boss and owner at Sleek Magazine, a confirmed bachelor), and she is using Aidan to make him jealous. She thought if she dated someone equally as wealthy and handsome as Roger that she would get his attention-however, her little plan backfired. Of course, Aidan is relieved, as he gives him the opportunity to break free as he is not ready for marriage. On the other hand, Lila’s little secret comes out and she has neither man. Another surprise, the gal giving the reading is not Aerie. The imposter is none other than impulsive, Jillian Mac! Wow, twice deceived in one day- how did she know about this deception? This is only the beginning of fun for Jill and sexy, Aidan. For sure, Jill captures Aidan’s attention- he is intrigued, begins his pursuit, and the sparks continue. Jill Mac and her friend Carrie (works for Jillian) happen to be in Florida to build fan support for the Rogues’ new spring training facility, which will be built by handsome Aidan Cates, successful contractor and part of the family that runs the town. With two unlikely couples, different pasts (also another match going on between Carrie and Aidan’s second in command, Mike and evidently characters from previous books, which I have not read), with lots of twists--this could be a standalone; however, would like to read the earlier books in the series to connect with all the characters. With lots of Florida sunshine, long summer nights of romance and humor, a lighthearted fun read for spring and lazy summer days on the beach!
