About the Author
I've lived on Nantucket for 33 years--year-round, as we say, so I have a special feeling for this island and for the people who love it. The Island House was inspired by two different friends: the mother of a large family and a young man who goes out on the Atlantic waters in his boat at night. Love and the mysteries of what we call "normal life" are everywhere, but something about the island air intensifies everything.
