About the Author

Rea Frey

I’ve lived a really full life. (Don’t worry. I won’t bore you with the details.)

While I did go to Columbia for fiction writing a million years ago, I abandoned it for journalistic pursuits. I worked several death row cases. I penned some health and wellness books. I worked for women’s magazines, newspapers, and corporations, where I was the writer monkey for endless clients.

Through it all, I really wanted to write fiction. But I wasn’t sure I had the story.

Until I did.

While my path to publication seems somewhat like a dream, it was a long, arduous process to get here. The only reason I got a two-book deal with one of the Big 5 publishers is because I didn’t give myself a plan B.

I finally had a story to tell. But more than that, I had a sense of urgency. I gave myself eight weeks to write a novel.

I wrote it in a month.

From there, I landed a stellar agent, a two-book deal, a movie deal, and then another two-book deal. I navigated the rocky terrain of the publishing industry, spent a shitload of money on PR, events, and digital marketing, and tried to nail the perfect recipe for success.

My book got a lot of buzz. It was even named one of Marie' Claire’s Top 27 Books and was a Silver Falchion Award finalist.

During that time, I quit my full-time job at a branding agency and organically began getting nonfiction book proposal clients who also wanted to reach their dreams.

I love working with potential authors who have an idea they need brought to life. I realized my super power is in giving voices to others, sure—but more than that, it’s getting others to believe in themselves as much as I do.

This industry takes a lot of self-belief, hard work, and knowledge of how publishing works. My clients get a full-spectrum experience. It’s what I love the most.

When I’m not promoting my novels, NOT HER DAUGHTER and BECAUSE YOU’RE MINE, you can find me homeschooling my daughter, spending time with my hubby, traveling, exercising, cooking, or plotting my next great adventure. Read More
