Heather was born in Wagner, South Dakota, the youngest of six children. At one month of age, her family returned to the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota where her father was employed as a guidance counselor and her mother as a school nurse. At the age of three, her family moved to Iowa, where she grew up. Having been born with a profound unilateral hearing loss (there were many evenings when Heather and her father made a trip to the bus barn to look around the school bus for her hearing aids that she often conveniently would forget on the seat beside her). Heather tended to use books as a retreat, would climb into the toy box that her father’s students from Rosebud made for the family with a pillow, blanket, and flashlight, close the lid, and escape the world around her. Heather became a voracious reader and the seed of becoming a writer was planted.
Heather lives in Iowa with her family and a very spoiled German Shorthaired Pointer named Lolo. In her free time, Heather enjoys spending time with her family, reading, swimming, and hiking. She is currently working on her next novel. WEBSITE

Q. Give us your best ELEVATOR PITCH for EVERYONE IS WATCHING.
HG: Five strangers come together to compete for $10 million dollars in a reality show competition series but as the game begins, they quickly realize that they were brought there for very different, very deadly reasons.
Q. DESCRIBE your novel in three words or less.
HG" Fast-paced, diabolical, twisty
Q. SETTING: Tell us more about the book setting and why you selected it.
HG" Typically, my novels are set in my home state of Iowa, but the bulk of this story is set at a remote estate in California in wine country. I needed to move away from the familiar backroads of the state I grew up in because that’s what the book called for. I needed my characters, contestants in a reality competition series, finding themselves isolated and cut off from the people they love and the environment they are familiar with.
Q. UPCOMING: Can you share what you are currently working on or what is next in ten words or less (or more)?
HG: I’m working on my next novel, THE BIG REVEAL. It’s a thriller about an over-the-top gender reveal gone wrong.

There are SO many but River Lights 2nd Edition in Dubuque, Iowa is near and dear to my heart.
IF YOU COULD CURE ONE DISEASE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Osteosarcoma. My son was diagnosed with bone cancer when he was 13. Thankfully, he is cancer-free and doing great, but I would love to be able to spare all children from this awful disease.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO BE REMEMBERED FOR?
After all is said and done, I hope I’m remembered for being a good mom, wife, daughter, sister, and friend.
WHAT IS YOUR WRITING PROCESS LIKE?
BOTH – I am a Pantser who is trying to develop more of a Plotter personality.

EVERYONE IS WATCHING is a fun escape from reality, and even though I am not a huge fan of reality TV shows, I am a fan of the author. I am all in for anything she writes. A long-time avid fan, I have read all her books, and each one is unique.
